SWU-MHAM (Southwestern University Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine,) Inc. was established as Southwestern Colleges in 1946 during the process of rehabilitation after World War II. Don Matias Hipolito Aznar II was the Founders and his wife Doña Anunciacion Barcenilla Aznar, who were the pharmacists by profession. Their vision was to establish a school of medicine that for the common people.
